Contribute to pharmacy education

When you join the Australian Pharmacy Council (APC), you're a part of advancing healthcare and pharmacy education for all Australians.

We strongly encourage people of all abilities, gender identities, and cultural backgrounds to apply, particularly people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage, and those who may experience diversity or disability related barriers in securing employment.

Our ‘Pharmily’ extends beyond our permanent workforce. We also engage professionals to support our goals, including through contribution of your knowledge to our Board or committees, and helping our working and reference groups drill down into best practice to advance our objectives.

Career opportunities

When we are recruiting, we list open opportunities to join our operational, enabling, support and professional services teams here.

Verification Officer

Do you have a strong attention to detail, want to contribute to improving healthcare access for Australians, and want to work as part of a values driven organisation? Full training will be provided for this exciting role.

One of our critical services is assessing pharmacists' skills and knowledge through qualification and verification checks and administering exams. By ensuring our pharmacists in Australia are work-ready, we ensure the integrity and protection of public health.

You will work as part of a small team to undertake eligibility and skills verification checks for overseas-trained pharmacists wishing to migrate and work in Australia. You will also play a role in continuing to advance and improve our systems, operations and processes. All training will be provided for the successful candidates.

Critically, we need detail-focused people who can complete the essential work of eligibility checks. You will work closely with our Candidate Relationship Team to respond to candidate queries and provide necessary guidance to resolve candidate issues. Previous experience in a regulatory environment may help but is not necessary if you possess the required attributes.

When ready to apply, all applications must be emailed to recruitment@pharmacycouncil.org.au.

Your application must include the following to be considered:

  • a cover letter is required (1-2 pages) outlining your experience and your interest relevant to the position,
  • a current resume, and
  • contact details of at least 2 referees (they will not be contacted without your prior permission).

Applications for this position will close 11.59pm EST, Sunday 17th May 2026.
